This week, we have the honor of hosting a presentation from David Kelly, a PhD student of CREST.
David will give a talk about the Metasploit, the tool that shows how fragile software is in practice, and how its vulnerabilities can be exploited in seconds to compromise a whole system.
As the presentation will follow a demo format, feel free to download our Virtual Machines containing the tool and the vulnerable machine that David will attack (it is big so do it before the talk):

freedevelop.org/oxford/VirtualMachine/metasploit2.ova
The talk will be in GS01 in 66-72 Gower Street at 1pm.
Title:
Introduction to Metasploit
Abstract:
The Metasploit Framework is a Ruby-based, modular penetration testing platform that enables you to write, test, and execute exploit code. The Metasploit Framework contains a suite of tools that you can use to test security vulnerabilities, enumerate networks, execute attacks, and evade detection. At its core, the Metasploit Framework is a collection of commonly used tools that provide a complete environment for penetration testing and exploit development.
