Amin will \u00a0work on the Virtuoso project developing in silico tools for Aortic Dissection. Menqui is a visiting researcher from Beijing Institute of Technology who will be with us for a year to work on microdroplets and encapsulation.\u00a0Welcome to the group!<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000\">December \u00a02020<\/span><\/p>\n<p>It is the end of 2020 and this month we are saying goodbye to Mirko and Gaia who are both moving to R&amp;D and consultancy positions in Oxford Heartbeat and Executive Insights respectivly. Jennika worked in our lab over the summer developing a <span style=\"color: #800000\">microfluidic flow cytometer for red blood cells<\/span>. \u00a0Good luck with the presentation Jennika.<\/p>\n<p>Our new \u00a0Physics of Fluids paper on <a href=\"http:\/\/aip.scitation.org\/doi\/10.1063\/1.5011373\">local viscosity distribution in bifurcating blood flows<\/a> \u00a0is now online.The paper \u00a0applies a viscosity model developed by Dr Stathis Kaliviotis to our blood flow data in a T junction channel \u00a0to obtain distribution of viscosity by taking into account the aggregate structures that Stathis has detected!<\/p>\n<p>Congratulations to Thore for having his first journal paper accepted in the Journal of Biomedical Optics.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000\">January 2018<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000\">STEM for Britain for Mirko and Thore.<\/span> Congratulations to Mirko and Thore who were selected to present their work in the Pariament!<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000\">December 2017<\/span><\/p>\n<p>This month we welcome <a href=\"http:\/\/mecheng.ucl.ac.uk\/news\/leverhulme-professorship-brasilian-visitor-cotta\/\">Professors \u00a0Renato Machado Cotta and Carolina Naveira Cotta<\/a> from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. Renato \u00a0is funded by a prestigious Leverhulme visiting professorship \u00a0and Carolina by a scholarship from CAPES\/Brasil.
