Her research addresses human factors in eHealth, particularly medical contexts, taking demands of user diversity into account. Her methodological competence regards the experimental and empirical evaluation of human\u2010computer interaction. A special focus is directed to the usability and acceptance of mobile devices in the hospital context. Martina Ziefle earned the PhD at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland. From 1998\u20102008, Martina worked as Associate Professor at the Universities of Munster and Aachen University. Since 2009 she is Full Professor and chair of Communication Science at RWTH. Martina Ziefle has an active publication record (more than 250 publications) and serves as an international specialist of Human\u2010Computer Interaction in different contexts. She is director of the Human\u2010Computer Interaction Center at RWTH and member of the ACM society (HCI group), IEEE Society (Social Implications of Technology\u2010Group and Professional Technical communication group).
